Project Overview
Project Details: To mark the transition from a commuter to a more traditional college campus, New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) took on the task of building its first residence hall for students. NEIT wanted the design of the new 122,000 sf building to have the conservative look and feel of New England (lots of wood, stone and natural products) but be more durable for years to come. Team Ruggieri recommended using products like vinyl plank and porcelain tile, to accomplish this task for longer lasting and easier to maintain flooring.
Project Products: With 416 beds, the single and double occupancy rooms all have Centiva vinyl plank installed in a traditional honey oak look. All bathrooms use Daltile porcelain floor tile and subway wall tile. The state-of-the art laundry room uses Tarkett linoleum while other auxiliary spaces use rugs cut and bound by Ruggieri from a Masland collection. Armstrong, Ardex, Mapei, Johnsonite, Mats Inc. are other Starnet vendor products used for the project.
